Argo Blockchain PLC Adds 1,000 Bitmain Miners; Will Add 6,000 More in Two Quarters

It’s a general notion that cryptocurrency mining pools prefer operating from developing economies because it provides them access to cheap electricity. However, a UK-based mining pool operator is breaking this notion by operating from and expanding into one of the world’s most developed economies.

That’s right. Argo Blockchain PLC just announced the addition of 1,000 new Bitcoin miners to its mining facilities. This has increased the total number of miners in its facilities from 5,000 to 6,000 turning the company into a giant mining farm.

Details On The Miners

The miners added are Bitmain’s Antminer T17 model launched last year.

But the company is not stopping there – it has also already announced the addition of 6,000 new machines in the next two quarters.

The company will provide another update on its operations of third-quarter in early October. At that time we may also hear about the addition of more miners to their facilities. Whether it will use the newly launched Bitmain miners (S17e and T17e) remains to be seen.

Argo Blockchain PLC is a UK based data center service provider also involved in the business of enterprise-scale cryptocurrency mining. It’s a publicly-listed entity, and recently it also posted its first-ever profit after listing on London Stock Exchange.
